台灣是個3C王國，而每年都有許多可以用的電子消費商品被人們丟棄，但其實它們都是好的，只是因為其他公司推出了更新更吸引人的硬體。藝術家去收集了許多二手或是廢棄的點陣式印表機，用另一種方式讓它們再度活了起來，而其背後驅動它們的養分，是來自於網路上碎屑的封包。 藝術家撰寫了一個程式，它會擷取目前網路的使用資料並解碼成0和1，並且對應到目前印表機的演奏序列。這些印表機就像是喪屍，他們原本的功能是列印，但是現在唯一的功能是演奏。 Taiwan is a country of consumer electronic products, every year when companies introduce newer and more attractive hardware, various kinds of functional consumer electronic products, which are still in good working conditions are discarded by users. The artist collected many second-hand or discarded dot matrix printers and allow them to live again through an alternative method. The nutrients that drive them are debris of information packets from the Internet. The artist writes a program that can catch the data from the internet and decode them to zero and one, mapping to the sequence of printers' performance. These printers are like zombies. Their original function is print, but now their function is only performance. | |
